Banksia Gifts

Banksia Gifts is a family run business since 1985.

Anthony Hansen makes most of the items. Their products are made from sustainably and sensitively collected spent seed pods of Banksia Grandis trees in Western Australia.  The yellow flowering tree can grow to 10 metres tall.

The pods that have naturally released their seeds are had picked in small quantities.  The dense pods are divided and turned and trimmed on a lathe to reveal its smooth and furry texture.   The cleaned seed pods are smoothed, sanded, polished with shellac and finished with oil.

Each pod is a unique, practical and beautiful gift.
